NFA Likely in Westport
After several quarters of groundwater monitoring revealed elevated oil-range organics in one well, PLIA issued a “No Further Action (NFA)-likely” letter in 2024. Envitechnology then submitted updated results using Silica Gel Cleanup.
In 2024, the Pollution Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA) issued a “No Further Action (NFA)-likely” letter based on findings from several quarters of groundwater monitoring. Although most wells showed decreasing contaminant levels, one monitoring well still displayed high concentrations of oil-range organics. In response, Envitechnology submitted updated groundwater monitoring results using Silica Gel Cleanup (SGC) to better differentiate petroleum hydrocarbons from naturally occurring organic matter. The project team is now awaiting PLIA’s final NFA determination, which would confirm the regulatory closure of the site.
